I am your ESL 302 class at San Jose City College. I want to take online classes because I could take it at the campus some other time. I would assess myself as a person who frequently assignment at the last minutes. Having the instructor in the classroom (on campus) while learning is not particularly necessary for me. When the instructor gives directions for assignments I like trying to follow the directions on my own. But I may need to ask for help sometimes. Online course is convenient for people who has full time job. In additional, it is great for parents who have taking care children at home. It is also flexible time for who has different schedule working.  

Drawing from my experience in this class I have studied grammar and extra exercises on the “Mind your grammar? Moreover, I have learned more grammar structure from your correction essay returning.  

I would kike to say thanks to you for this semester. Keep in mind I am planning to take more online classes for next semester.

I didn’t like going to school because I am very busy and I have to work a lot.  When I started taking this online class with Sabri Bebawi, I realized  it was great.  Compared to another  class in the classroom,  this online  class has many advantages. The teacher made it look very easy and interesting.  He encouraged and directed me and all the other students to use WebCT and was able to solve any technical problem I had.  Sabri made himself available all the time by e-mail or on many chat rooms he told us about.  I was able to contact him any time I had a question.  I was also able to e-mail other students and ask them questions.  The class was really difficult and challenging but I liked it very much because I learned a lot. I was able to
email my instructor and ask questions to help me with the homework. WebCT was also very easy to learn. This class had so much interaction it was great. If I  found something difficult in the book, I would ask the teacher.  I learned a lot from the teacher and from  the Internet links he gave me. Overall, I love the online classes; I can take them at my own time.

Dear Sabri,

My name is Chou, Taiying, ID# TACH8323, and I study in ESL302 class at San Jose City College. Online courses have many material resources for learning, such as teacher resources, students? resources and other information, such as Web. CT, ESL Problems station and Films Worth Watching. On the other hand, reading some short stories, doing the exercises on the focus-on-grammar section to improve our reading and writing skills and sentence structures. Online courses are very helpful and convenience for some working people or parents and some people living far from school because they may not have time to go to campus, or they do not have independent transportations.

For my experiences, this is my second time to take online courses, so I am pretty familiar with that. I would like to take online courses because it is easy to schedule them during my free time. Also, I do not have transportation, so reading the lectures, doing the homework and tests and using the emails or hotmail massager to ask some question at home are the most convenience way for learning.  Moreover, we can share the ideas or see other students?works on the discussion board because sometimes we make the same mistakes. After that, we pay more attention on that.  

Another reason is that I like to take your lectures because you always explain and answer the questions very detail and clear.  The examples you give us are always easy to understand.  In addition, when I see the week lectures, I always make a copy and take some notes. It is more convenience for me to review at next time. I like the way by using the emails or hotmail massager to ask you some questions because I feel more comfortable.

Anyway, online course is really helpful and useful for me, so I always recommend my friends to take online courses.

For me, this online course has been great because it’s been convenient to schedule it around my work schedule. Besides, online courses have diverse collection of methods and materials to enhance our learning experience.  Finally, I can share my work with the entire class and learn from them, too.

For working people or parents with young children at home as well as those who do not have independent transportation, online education provides us the convenient access to college courses. The reason being is that we need to graduate and finish our degree, but we don’t have time to take them on campus.  As a result,  online courses is a great opportunity to take advantage of in this hi-tech world that we live in now.

Second, online courses have a diverse collection of methods and materials to support us in learning. These include: online resources, student resources, teacher resource, etc…For example, we can improve our grammar by reading, “focus-on-grammar lectures.?There are many tests, many quizzes and many good short stories for us to read and to practice, too. Moreover, we can take a more active role in our learning process. We have the responsibility to keep up with the homework, because we are to reply to your daily reminders.

Last but not least, online courses make us aware of a large audience for our work. Instead of simply doing papers for you, we can easily share our work with the entire class by reading from the class discussion board. We can draw experience by learning from others? mistake such as: grammar structures, word choice and word forms.

As online classes are a good choice for a full time employee like me, I plan to take more online classes next semester.

To Mr. Bebawi,

            Online instruction was a new experience for me. First, it provided me with a flexible schedule, so I work on my assignments any time I wish. I can check homework requirements to remind myself what to do. Also, I can save time by not having to run back and forth from the SJCC to turn in homework and such.

            In addition, with the discussion board, we (as classmates) can ‘discuss? ideas and information. There is a faster connection and communication between students online than in person. Personally, I feel more comfortable that way.

            Last of all, having online education is a form of self-discipline. Through this, you learn to discipline your self and manage time to do your homework. Since you’re at home and you can do things your own time, your must take control of your life and leave time for education online.

            Truly, I feel online instruction gave me self-independence and freedom to communicate with my classmates without reservation. I will encourage other people to try this sometime.

           My name is Thao Ngo, my class is ELS 302 at SJCC. I would like to write a letter to you because I want let you know about valuating online education. I took ELS writing class to study on line. I have resulted and experience on this course about valuation and advantage when I was studied.

         The first reason, the classes on line are advantaged for all people who want to school but they do not have time. Like me, I want go to school to learn English but I have to go to work then after working I take care of my children.  Therefore, I do not have time go to school. Studying on line is very convenience for me. I can study any time when I am free. I can take care of my children and study on line the same time. This course helped me to learn many things such as grammars, how to used Web CT. Moreover, I learn how to used internet for study on line. In addition, time is flexible, I can study lecture on line when I have time. I can do homework on web and I have time to write an essay post on web. When I have questions or problems I sent email asked you. You reply to me very soon and clearly. 

       The second reason, value on line education that help for me improve knowledge. I stopped go to school learning English two years ago because I have to go to work and take care of my family. I have no time go out after work.  I can continue learning English because I have experience to study it on line.

I think, I will keep continue studying on line because I have chance to improve my English. Addition, I will take some class else on line to get more education.

    I hope, I will take ESL 91 on line next semester if I pass this class. I would like to say with you thank you very much for help. I appreciate about your enthusiasm to students.

I would like to say thank you very much for your help. As you know, I am now working as a driver for Federal Express Delivery Company. I am so busy that I do not have time to go to school because I have to work from early morning until six pm or more everyday. Luckily, ESL 302 and ESL 100L have been opened. Studying online is really flexible because I can learn any time such as weekend, midnight , or in the early morning. Being an immigrant, I know that learning English is very important to adapt to the new culture. I must also finish my education and get a diploma in America . Since I joined this class, I have not only learned a lot of knowledge such as grammar, structure, new words, idioms, etc from the web, but gotten more knowledge from your answering and corrected assignments also. The web site is built perfectly and conveniently. I can do a lot of exercises to improve my English. In addition, I can share my homework and assignments to the others, so I can learn more skills of writing from them. I hope that there will be online classes available for the next levels, not only for ESL, but for other subjects also, so that I can keep my education going on and earn a diploma as soon as possible.          My name is Tina Cao and I am your ESL 302 on line student at San Jose City College.  This is my second time on line class after I took ESL 106 last mini course.  The good reasons why I am taking on line class again because it has the good opportunity to learn English with my convenient time and it has the advantages. 

To me, taking English class on line has a most convenient time for every one who is working full time and being a mom liked me.  I can work full time and also can attend school to improve my education.  Moreover, assignments are posting by weekly so I can arrange time to study and complete homework at my own schedule.  Besides that, if I have any questions or problems so I can e-mail to you or chat with you on line right away.  You always solve my problems.  It is the best way to help me to continue doing on my homework.

            Another good reason to taking on line class that has advantages to learn English from different sources such as Englishpape, OWL and WebCT.  As you know that learning English requires a lot of reading and writing essay in order to be more successful.   I have been studying from those sources but I still need more practicing for those exercises without buying books or materials. 

            I feel very grateful to you that create on line class and many lectures which very clear explanation so many students especially me can understand and finish our careers while we are working and being a mother.

For me, this online course has been great because it’s been convenient to schedule it around my work schedule. Besides, online courses have diverse collection of methods and materials to enhance our learning experience.

First, its schedule has been convenient for me. I didn’t need to go to school at exactly days and hours. I could learn the lessons, read the class news at anytime that I was free. Also, I would spend 2,3 hours or whenever I completed the lessons. Besides, it was appropriate with working people, too. They could attend the online courses to finish their degree while a few years ago fixed schedule in school has stopped their goal.

              Second, online courses have a diverse collection of methods and materials to support us in learning. These include: online resources, student resources, teacher resource, etc…For example, we can improve our grammar by reading, “focus-on-grammar lectures.?There are many tests, many quizzes and many good short stories for us to read and to practice, too. Moreover, we can take a more active role in our learning process. We have the responsibility to keep up with the homework, because we are to reply to your daily reminders.

            Last but not least, online courses allowed us studying together which was the best way to exchange knowledge. For example, when we didn’t understand or confuse the idea of an essay, we could open the homework of somebody to learn his or her excellence and mistakes that was corrected by the teacher like: word form, structure of sentence, word choice, and awkward? As a result, we could correct the mistakes ourselves, and our understanding would increase as well as getting a better grade.

              As online classes are a good choice for a full time employee like me, I plan to take more online classes next semester.

  I am your student Thuy Nguyen (THNG9242), and I am taking ESL 302 at San Jose City College .  For me, this online course is my pleasure because it is the most advantage for me.  The first advantage of online course is schedule convenience it is flexible hours.  I don’t need to take time go to school at exactly days and time, so I am able to study at home any time when I am free.  Also, I can learn the lesions and finish my assignment how many hours whenever I can.  Moreover, online course is a big chance for me to know how to get in the web CT.  Before I always had a trouble that eventually I fell comfortable with the online course, and it has been great for me now.  The second advantage of online course is methods and materials, and it is the best way to support me learning.  There are many good materials such as online recourse, student resource, and teacher resource, etc…taking online, I can improve grammar by practice test, or read some short stories.  Also, there are many quizzes from the focus on grammar lectures.  Lastly, online course is an advantage for sharing, or exchanging knowledge with other student by opening their homework.  That way I can learn a lot of good things from them such as word from, sentence structure, word choice, etc…also, I can learn many mistake were correct by the teacher.  Beside, it is a good choice for part time worker like me, so I would like attending the online course to finish English 1B.  Hopefully, all English levels are available in the online course every semester.  I appreciate the online course very much because it was the best way to study for me and for working people.  I will take ESL91 by online next semester if I pass ESL302, and I hope that you will be my teacher again.

Hi...!!! 

My name is Alberto Santillan I just pass the ESL 302 online class. I think online classes are helpful for people that work or have other activities, I have two jobs and I go to school too. I learned that you may want to

stop online classes, well I do not know the reason but if you do I think it will not be so good for the students, I also take on campus classes, like math, and other, but esl on line is a very good choice for those students who really want to improve fast and they do not have the time to

do it. I take my one hour brake time at work to get online and do the homework, I tried to read the assignments when work is slow, and I can still take some other classes on campus, and that's some other students do as well, so please keep this in mind before you stop online classes.
