Often, we hear an Islamic Scholar (oxymoron) tell us that the term “Islam” means “peace.” Nothing is further from the truth than such a statement. This writer studied Law in Egypt, which requires the highest understanding of Arabic.

“Peace” in Arabic is “salam,” not “Islam.” The term “Islam” means “surrender.” Just by attributing the term “surrender” to an ideology, it tarnishes all the ideas of the ideology and invalidates it. Hence, Islam is an invalid and fallacious ideology. No religion in the history of mankind forces others to surrender and adapt to the religion. That is why this writer does not consider Islam a religion.

Additionally, no religion calls for the evil doing for which Islam calls, condones, and encourages. For example, Q4:95 states, “Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home).” Q8:60 advises Muslims “to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth … Numerous scholars (oxymoron) explain Quranic phrases on violence to be only in the context of a defensive response to oppression; this is not true.

Quran- 2:191 – Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.

Quran- 3:28 – Muslims must not take infidels as friends.

Quran – 3:85 – Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable.

Quran – 5:33 – Maim and crucify infidels if they criticize Islam.

Quran – 8:12 – Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Quran.

Quran – 8:60 – Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels.

Quran – 8:65 – The unbelievers are stupid; urge the Muslims to fight them.

Quran – 9:5 – When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them.

Quran – 9:30 – The Jews and the Christians are perverts; fight them.

Quran – 9:123 – Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood.

Quran – 22:19- Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.

Quran – 17:4 – Do not hanker for peace with the infidels; behead them when you catch them.

The sad reality is that the Western world does not understand the facts because of its egocentrism – it thinks the whole world is like they do. As a result, Europe and the West are now occupied by Muslim immigrants who take advantage of democracy (something they do not know or understand) and freedom of speech and expression (also, they do not understand) and demand the unthinkable. For example, they require the imposition of Sharia law and the imposition of blasphemy punishment in England – who could have believed? I could.

For far too long, the Muslim world has hidden behind excuses, claiming that violence committed in the name of Islam is the work of “extremists” or “misinterpretations.” Yet history and reality tell a different story. From its inception to the present day, Islam has been inseparably tied to conquest, subjugation, and bloodshed. What other faith so persistently inspires terror attacks, repression of thought, and persecution of those who dare to dissent?

The truth is simple, though painful: Islam has not been a force of peace, but an ideology of control. From the early spread of the faith by the sword, through centuries of empire built on submission, to the present age where groups like ISIS, al-Qaeda, Hamas, and the Taliban openly declare themselves as guardians of Islam’s purity, the pattern is unmistakable. Violence is not a fringe distortion; it is written into the very logic of the system.

This is why the world does not respect you. The world fears you. While other civilizations advance with knowledge, freedom, and human dignity, the Islamic world clings to doctrines that suffocate progress and celebrate martyrdom over life. The result is misery for your people and distrust from the international community.

It is not enough to insist that “true Islam” is peaceful. If it were so, it would have proven itself by now. Instead, what we see are nations where blasphemy is punishable by death, where women are denied the most basic rights, where dissenters are silenced, and where jihad is glorified as a holy duty. These are not distortions; they are realities that stem from the very texts and traditions you claim as sacred.

Muslims should feel shame—not pride—for allowing such a system to define their societies. Shame for justifying barbarism as faith. Shame for defending cruelty in the name of God. Civilization is not measured by the number of mosques built, but by the freedom, dignity, and peace it provides its people. By that measure, Islam continues to fail.

The time has come to stop this destructive cycle. Enough excuses, enough denials, enough appeals to victimhood. Reject the violence, abandon the fanaticism, and free yourselves from the dogma that drags humanity backward. If you do not, you will remain isolated, condemned, and remembered by history not as contributors to human progress, but as obstacles to it.

The world is watching, and history is recording. The judgment of both will not be kind.
